Frequently Asked Questions
Every design begins with an idea, and every project comes with questions. Here you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about our lighting, materials and bespoke design process.
If you need further information or would like to discuss a project, feel free to get in touch.
Technical information
Yes, the lighting is dimmable. Depending on the design, different dimming methods are available, including PWM, TRIAC and DALI. The available options depend on the specific design and its electrical components.
Yes. The switch is discreetly integrated into the wooden design. You can turn the lamp on or off with a brief touch of the wood. To dim the light, simply keep your hand against the wood for a little longer.
We use oak as standard. If you prefer a different type of wood, we would be happy to explore the technical and aesthetic possibilities with you.
We use high-quality COB LED strips. This technology helps create a smooth, uniform line of light without the individually visible light points associated with conventional LED strips.
Our LED strips are installed in aluminium profiles, which help dissipate heat and support a safe integration of the lighting into the wooden design. The final configuration is designed with the materials and operating conditions in mind.
We use 24V LED strips. This helps minimise voltage drop along longer light lines, supporting consistent brightness across the length of the design.
Our wall lights are designed to make installation as straightforward as possible. However, some technical knowledge and practical skills may be required. If you prefer, we can take care of the installation for you.
Quality is at the heart of everything we do, both technically and aesthetically. We offer a 25-year warranty on our lighting designs. Please refer to the applicable warranty conditions for details of the coverage.
Design & customisation
Absolutely. Before your design goes into production, you will receive a photorealistic visualisation. Based on this, adjustments can be made to elements such as the dimensions, lighting elements and reveal angle. Production only begins once you are completely satisfied with the proposed design.
The reveal angle is particularly relevant to the SignaRture concept. It is the specific viewing angle from which the word or name that inspired the design becomes recognisable. From other angles, the design reveals a more abstract composition of lines.
Yes. Bespoke lighting is an important part of Jacobs Elements. A name, a meaningful word or a distinctive idea can serve as the starting point for a unique design. Get in touch to discuss your project and explore the possibilities.
Depending on the collection and design, certain dimensions, finishes and design elements may be adapted to suit your project. We would be happy to discuss the available options with you.
Yes. That is the essence of SignaRture: transforming a word or name into a unique sculptural lighting design.
Absolutely. SignaRture is particularly suited to hospitality environments, where a name, word or concept can become a distinctive lighting feature that reflects the identity of a space.
Yes. The lighting elements of the Initials floor lamps can be rotated through 360°, allowing you to adjust the direction of the light to suit your space and preferences.
Yes. Each Initials floor lamp comes with one Shelf accessory. Additional Shelves can be purchased separately.
Yes. The Shelf can easily be repositioned at different heights along the vertical elements of the design, allowing you to adapt it to your needs.
Yes. In addition to the standard sizes, the Initials floor lamps can be made in different dimensions and finishes to suit your preferences and project requirements.
Yes. Both the armature and the lighting element can be rotated through 360°, allowing you to adjust the shape of the design and direct the light to suit your space and desired atmosphere.
Orders & projects
Yes. Our sculptural lighting can bring character to a wide range of interiors, including hotels, restaurants, reception areas and residential spaces. For professional projects, we can discuss the specific requirements of your space.
Simply get in touch and tell us about your project or the design you are interested in. We will discuss your requirements and provide further information about pricing and the available possibilities.
Lead times depend on the design, the level of customisation and the scope of the project. We will discuss the expected timeframe with you before confirming an order.
The Initials and Hyphen designs are made to order. SignaRture designs are created specifically for each project, starting with your chosen word, name or idea. Before production begins, you will receive a photorealistic visualisation to review and refine the design.
International delivery can be arranged. Please get in touch to discuss your project and delivery requirements.
Depending on the design and destination, delivery can be arranged personally or through carefully prepared protective packaging, such as a custom wooden crate. The most suitable method will be discussed with you before delivery.
